This virtual public workshop examined scientific, technical, ethical, and regulatory issues related to brain-machine interfaces (BMIs) and related neural interface technologies. It considered implications of these technologies for user autonomy and privacy, issues associated with the collection and use of data obtained from them, and oversight/governance of their use.
