Description
A planning committee of the National Academies of Sciences, Engineering, and Medicine will organize a one-day public workshop to explore actions being taken by various stakeholder organizations to foster the broad adoption of policies and practices in support of open scholarship. The workshop will bring together participants from universities, scholarly societies, federal agencies, and private research funders. It will include discussion of priorities for cross-sector collaboration. It will also feature updates from federal agencies on their plans and priorities for advancing open scholarship to follow up the August 2022 guidance on Ensuring Free, Immediate, and Equitable Access to Federally Funded Research from the Office of Science and Technology Policy. The workshop will be held in conjunction with the Fall 2022 meeting of the Roundtable on Aligning Incentives for Open Scholarship. A Proceedings of a Workshop--in Brief will be prepared by designated rapporteurs and distributed broadly.
