Gulf Environmental Protection and Stewardship Board
The Gulf Environmental Protection and Stewardship Board at the National Academies explores the varied environments of the Gulf--including terrestrial, freshwater, coastal, and marine systems. The work of the Board is coupled with the social systems that define the daily lives of millions of residents.
The Board strives to protect and enhance the socio-ecological systems of the Gulf region by connecting science and management. A forward-looking approach allows the Board to be useful and relevant as emerging issues of a changing climate, energy sources and uses, and human-natural systems challenge the Gulf Coast.
