Requested by Congress in P.L. 115-141, Consolidated Appropriations Act, 2018, this new report, from the National Academies of Sciences, Engineering, and Medicine, reviews and evaluates maternal and newborn care in the United States, the epidemiology of social and clinical risks in pregnancy and childbirth, birth settings research, and access to and choice of birth settings.
