  INCS serves as a key resource and mechanism for U.S. government agencies; public interest foundations; science, engineering, and medical organizations; and the three Academies to create and foster new international engagements, participate in international organizations, and sustain engagement with international counterparts on important topics.

  INCS harnesses the diplomatic, scientific, and economic benefits of international scientific collaboration to implement high-impact research programs between scientists in the United States and other nations to address critical development needs. It serves as an independent convener of multilateral discussions, mobilizes human resources, and helps build capacity in partnering institutions around the globe.

• Enhancing International Security

  INCS assembles the resources of the three Academies to partner with other countries to promote U.S. and international security interests. Through participation in global dialogues, forums, and initiatives, INCS ensures the United States contributes independent, evidence-based research to inform decision making on the world’s most pressing security challenges.
