U.S. - Egypt Science and Technology Joint Fund

The U.S. - Egypt Science and Technology (S&T) Joint Fund was established under an agreement between the Government of the United States of America and the Government of the Arab Republic of Egypt to strengthen scientific and technological capabilities between both countries.

On March 26, 2025, USAID informed the National Academy of Sciences that it should terminate all work on this activity. U.S. implementation of this activity has ended and any inquiries related to Egyptian activities under this program should be directed to the Egyptian Science, Technology & Innovation Funding Authority (stdf.eg).

3) expanding activities in applied research and technology commercialization, with an innovation grants program to support private sector competitiveness that contributes towards economic growth.
NASEM activities include support for scientific reviews of proposals, technical and administrative grant management of projects selected for funding, and development of new scientific activities, including innovation and entrepreneurship that promote and advance bilateral S&T goals in the U.S. and/or Egypt.
