This workshop will explore the role of artificial intelligence (AI) in obesity prevention, management, and treatment.

Description

A planning committee of the National Academies of Sciences, Engineering, and Medicine will organize a public workshop to explore the role of artificial intelligence (AI) in obesity prevention, management, and treatment. The workshop will include an overview of AI and its relevance to obesity. Invited presentations and discussions will address how AI could support research, prevention, and management; the challenges, risks, and limitations involved; and what is needed for AI to positively advance the field. A broad range of perspectives will be incorporated throughout the workshop with an emphasis on the lived experience of obesity.
The planning committee will organize the workshop, select, and invite speakers and discussants, and moderate the discussions. A proceedings---in brief will be prepared by a designated rapporteur in accordance with institutional guidelines.
