Description
The National Academies of Sciences, Engineering, and Medicine will convene a one-time meeting of selected experts to discuss aspects of commercial aviation supply chains as they relate to investing in overseas manufacturing and supply chains, and building resilience in their supply chains, including re-shoring. The focus of the expert group's discussions will be on key factors used by commercial aviation original equipment manufacturers (OEMs) -
• In selecting where they manufacture and assemble their own components;
• In selecting their manufacturing subcontractors or sub-component manufacturers; and
• In making decisions for diversifying and/or re-shoring their supply chains.
No National Academies report will be prepared at the end of the expert meeting.
