Community-Led Initiatives for Population Health Improvement: A Workshop

The Roundtable on Population Health Improvement hosted a virtual workshop that explored the role and power of communities in creating or strengthening conditions for improved health and well-being. The workshop featured presentations and discussion of different aspects of community-led action and power-building with support from partners in philanthropy, academia, and other sectors to strengthen the effectiveness of local efforts to act on the social drivers of health.

Description

A planning committee of The National Academies of Sciences, Engineering and Medicine will organize a workshop that will explore community-led actions that improve population health. The workshop may feature presentations discussing different components and dimensions of community-led action around different population health improvement topics such as education, transportation, environmental health, healthy eating and active living, among others. A proceedings summarizing the presentations and discussions at the workshop will be prepared by a designated rapporteur in accordance with institutional guidelines.
