Lived Experience for Stronger Neuroscience Action Collaborative (LivedX for Neuro)

In formation

The LivedX for Neuro action collaborative will bring together individuals with firsthand experience of mental, neurological, and visual conditions to share their experiences and guide the Neuroscience Forum's work to reflect and elevate the needs of those living with central nervous system disorders.

Description

LivedX for Neuro is a collaborative group being convened by the National Academies' Forum on Neuroscience and Nervous System Disorders (Neuroscience Forum) that aims to bridge the gap between scientific research and real-life experiences of individuals affected by brain disorders. This initiative brings together people who have firsthand experience with mental, neurological, and visual conditions to share their insights and perspectives. By fostering a supportive community and facilitating open communication, LivedX for Neuro strives to ensure that the voices of those living with brain disorders are heard and incorporated into the Neuroscience Forum's work. This approach not only enriches the scientific community's understanding of these conditions but also helps guide research and activities towards addressing the most pressing issues faced by individuals and their families. Through LivedX for Neuro, the Neuroscience Forum seeks to create more relevant and impactful neuroscience initiatives that truly reflect the needs and experiences of those they aim to help.
