Population Health and the ACA: A Workshop

Completed

The Roundtable on Population Health Improvement's June 2014 workshop Population Health and the ACA showcased and facilitated discussion of stakeholder action in improving population health by leveraging opportunities created by the Affordable Care Act. Population health refers not merely to the population of patients, but to the health of entire communities. And opportunities go beyond what can be done in a doctor’s office, extending to new ways of communicating about health, paying for care, and shaping “the conditions in which people can be healthy.”

Description

An ad hoc committee will plan and conduct a public workshop that will feature presentations and discussion of the impact on population health improvement of various provisions within the Patient Protection and Affordable Care Act (ACA). The committee will define the specific topics to be addressed, develop the agenda, select and invite speakers and other participants, and moderate the discussions.
