Description
An ad hoc committee will plan and conduct a public workshop that will examine the integration of large-scale genomic information into clinical practice. The workshop will feature presentations and discussions from an array of stakeholders which may include bioinformaticists, clinical investigators, health care providers, patient advocacy groups, payers, policy makers, and public health professionals. The goal of the workshop will be to identify important issues surrounding the use of genomic information for clinical decision making, such as innovative delivery systems for patients and reimbursement mechanisms for analyzing data and counseling patients, to help advance discussions among policymakers and the broader public. The committee will develop the workshop agenda, select and invite speakers and discussants, and moderate the discussions. An individually-authored summary of the workshop will be prepared by a designated rapporteur in accordance with institutional policy and procedures.
