A planning committee organized a workshop on the impacts of supply chain disruptions on vulnerable communities. Workshop presenters focused on the human and social impacts to better understand:

• how communities are impacted by supply chain disruptions
• challenges faced in recovery from disruptions and innovative approaches to address the challenges
• sustainability strategies for overcoming supply chain challenges (i.e., policies, informal and formal mechanisms)
• preparations to avoid future disruptions and build/improve community resilience
• examples of adaptive, resilient, and sustainability efforts undertaken by other communities to lessen these impacts and come up with actionable policies, programs, and strategies for the impacted communities.
