Any project, supported or not by a committee, that is currently being worked on or is considered active, and will have an end date.

The Bridging Horizons for Planetary Health program will convene a series of symposia to bring together early- and mid-career researchers from the United States and China to discuss exciting advances and opportunities related to planetary health.

Description

Building on the success of the Arab-American and U.S.-Africa Frontiers of Science, Engineering, and Medicine Programs and NAE's China-America Frontiers of Engineering Program, the Bridging U.S.-China Horizons for Planetary Health program will convene a series of symposia to bring together early and mid-career scientists from the United States and China working at the frontiers of their fields related to planetary health. The overall goals of the symposia are to 1) Lay the foundations for interdisciplinary scientific dialogue that will contribute to U.S. strength and leadership in the field of planetary health by increasing access to data and discovery, and 2) Promote scientific excellence, transparency, and rigor in two of the world’s most productive scientific communities. The Bridging U.S.-China Horizons for Planetary Health program will be conducted in collaboration with the Chinese Academy of Sciences as an activity under the umbrella of the U.S.-China Collaborative for Planetary Health, a program of activities of scientific cooperation with counterparts in China, primarily the Chinese Academy of Sciences.
