In 2021, the National Academies of Sciences, Engineering, and Medicine released a consensus study report, Transforming Trajectories for Women of Color in Tech, which provides recommendations to a broad set of stakeholders within the tech ecosystem for increasing recruitment, retention, and advancement of women of color in tech. To broadly share the key messages from this report and catalyze evidence-informed action, the National Academies will carry out a multi-faceted dissemination and outreach effort. The effort will include the following activities:

1. The development of a podcast series that will connect the firsthand experiences and narratives of women of color in tech fields with the current research described in the report;
2. committee-led outreach to a range of key stakeholders in industry, academia, professional societies, and government and the development of written dissemination products;
3. A planning meeting series that will bring together stakeholders from across the tech ecosystem, including representatives from academia, industry, professional societies, government agencies, and private foundations, to identify opportunities for collective action guided by the report. This planning series may culminate in the development of a consultant authored report documenting the outcomes of these discussions.

These activities will be overseen by an advisory committee composed of a subset of members of the consensus study committee along with other key scholars and leaders with deep knowledge of the topic and the report's findings and recommendations.
