Explore the intersection of K-12 STEM education, research, and workforce development at an upcoming workshop by the Government-University-Industry Research Roundtable. Description
A planning committee of the National Academies of Sciences, Engineering, and Medicine will organize a workshop to consider how the K-12 educational pipeline can be supported by the US research enterprise across diverse sectors to encourage workforce development and enhance future innovation and entrepreneurship. Senior leaders from government, university, industry, and philanthropy will convene with educational experts to discuss the evolving state of K-12 STEM education, early entrepreneurship education and the future of the STEM workforce. They will also explore how to encourage science based economic development through regional education programs, and mapping the future of early STEM education to prepare an innovation-based workforce. A rapporteur-authored proceedings-in brief will be published summarizing the workshop.
