A planning committee of the National Academies of Sciences, Engineering, and Medicine will organize a public workshop series featuring invited presentations and discussions to support constituent engagement and opportunities for improving the health and wellbeing of children, youth, families, communities, and the nation.
Building on the October 2024 National Academies workshop Enhancing Child and Youth Health Care Transformation, these workshops will delve more deeply into models for financing, including cross-service sector collaboration, and they will engage perspectives outside of the health care sector, including education, faith-based organizations, and business/finance.
Description
A planning committee of the National Academies of Sciences, Engineering, and Medicine will organize a public workshop series featuring invited presentations and discussions to support constituent engagement and opportunities for improving the health and wellbeing of children, youth, families, communities, and the nation. These workshops will focus on innovations that can be made in the child and adolescent health care system to improve the health and well-being of children youth, and families, with attention to health promotion and resiliency as well as disease prevention.
Building on the October 2024 National Academies workshop Enhancing Child and Youth Health Care Transformation, these workshops will delve more deeply into models for financing, including cross-service sector collaboration, and they will engage perspectives outside of the health care sector, including education, faith-based organizations, and business/finance. Presentations and discussions may consider key levers of change at the state level, promising practices and policies incorporating the lived experience of youth and families, and promising messages for building broad coalitions around investment in children and youth.
The planning committee will organize the workshop series, select and invite speakers and discussants, and moderate the discussions. Proceedings-in-brief summarizing the discussions for each workshop in the series will be prepared by a designated rapporteur in accordance with institutional guidelines.
