Description
An ad hoc committee will be formed to facilitate an open dialogue with leading industry, academic and government experts to: (1) define the current technological and policy challenges with maintaining a reliable and secure source of microelectronic components; (2) review the current state of acquisition processes within the Air Force for acquiring reliable and secure microelectronic components and; (3) explore options for possible business models within the national security complex that would be relevant for the Air Force acquisition community. The committee will develop the agenda for the workshop, select and invite speakers and discussants and moderate the discussions. In organizing the workshop, the committee might also consider additional topics close to and in line with those mentioned above. The meetings will use a mix of individual presentations, panels, breakout discussions, and question-and-answer sessions to develop an understanding of the relevant issues. Key stakeholders will be identified and invited to participate. One committee authored workshop report will be prepared in accordance with institutional guidelines.
