Description
An ad hoc committee will plan and conduct a public workshop on the integration of health literacy, cultural competency, and language access services. The workshop will feature invited presentations and discussions on topics which may encompass skills/competencies needed for effective health communication including health literacy, cultural competency, and language access services; interventions and strategies for integration; and differing perspectives such as providers and systems, patients and families, communities, and payors. The committee will define the specific topics to be addressed, develop the agenda, select and invite speakers and other participants, and moderate the discussions. A summary of the presentations and discussions at the workshop will be prepared by a designated rapporteur in accordance with institutional guidelines.
