This workshop series will be held in collaboration with the Kuwait Foundation for the Advancement of Sciences. The goal of this series is to promote knowledge exchange between the U.S. and Kuwait on recent advancements in the field of precision and personalized medicine. The workshops will investigate interdisciplinary approaches between the biological and material sciences, engineering disciplines, and data science in order to achieve meaningful solutions in precision medicine and health.

Description

A planning committee of 4-6 scholars from the US and Kuwait will plan the two joint workshops in collaboration with KFAS on precision and personalized medicine, to be held in the U.S. (fall 2024) and Kuwait (early 2025). The purpose of the workshops is to explore advancements in precision and personalized medicine, including microfluidics and point-of-care biosensing technologies and how they can increase healthcare accessibility in the United States and in Kuwait. The series will also highlight the unprecedented potential for machine learning approaches to enhance clinical decision making. The workshops will investigate interdisciplinary approaches between the biological and material sciences, engineering disciplines, and data science in order to achieve meaningful solutions in precision medicine.
