The National Academies of Sciences, Engineering, and Medicine (NASEM) and the Kuwait Foundation for the Advancement of Science (KFAS) are jointly planning two workshops to identify evidence-based practices and resources for improving the inclusion of women in science, engineering, and medicine in the U.S. and Kuwait. The workshops, which will be held in the U.S. and Kuwait in 2019 and 2020 respectively, will each involve 30-40 leaders in academia, government, and business, and will focus on successful strategies and programs in both countries that increase opportunities for women. Two workshop proceedings will be produced, in English and Arabic.

Description

An ad hoc committee will collaborate with representatives of the Kuwait Foundation for the Advancement of Science (KFAS) to plan and execute two workshops to identify evidence-based practices and resources for improving the inclusion of women in science, engineering, and medicine in the U.S. and Kuwait. The workshops, which will be held in the U.S. and Kuwait in 2019, will each involve 30-40 leaders in academia, government, and business, and will focus on successful strategies and programs in both countries that increase opportunities for women. Two workshop proceedings will be produced, in English and Arabic.
