Long Description.

Introduction

This survey was developed as part of a research study sponsored by NCHRP Project 22-53, “Delineation of Linear Roadside Hardware Systems and Roadside Obstacles.” This survey aims to 1) gather information on delineation practices for roadside hardware and roadside obstacles and 2) collect information on any research studies conducted to evaluate the effectiveness of these delineation practices.

Instruction

The survey will automatically save as you progress through the questions. You may close the survey and reopen it at any time on the same computer. If you have any questions, please contact Nathan Schulz.

Q2. Does your agency utilize a state MUTCD for guidance on the delineation of roadside hardware and roadside obstacles?

Yes

No

Optional: You may provide a comment in the box below.

Q3. Has your agency implemented guidelines outside of the specifications in the FHWA MUTCD or your state MUTCD for the delineation of roadside hardware and/or roadside obstacles?

Yes

No

Optional: You may provide a comment in the box below.

Q4. Has your agency experimented with delineation practices for roadside hardware and/or roadside obstacles that were not developed into guidelines? This may include a successful delineation application for a project, an innovative delineation solution, or other forms of experimental delineation use.

Yes

No

Optional: You may provide a comment in the box below.

Instruction: For Questions 5-14, you will be asked to provide information such as specifications, application type, relative usage, cost, service life, etc. for delineation practices used by your agency. These questions apply to a single delineation practice. In Question 15, you will be given the opportunity to return to this point and add additional delineation practices. You may add as many delineation practices as you want. The survey will loop until Question 15 is answered “no.”

Q5. Please provide any standard plans, specifications, and/or design guidelines of a delineation practice implemented by your agency for roadside hardware or roadside obstacles.
