This webinar series acts as a primer for the Roundtable's upcoming workshop on accelerating climate progress with AI. The workshop will workshop to explore innovative ways AI can enhance climate science and support decision-making for resilience and mitigation and will be hosted on January 13-14, 2026 - registration is now open!

This webinar series is an activity of the National Academies Roundtable on Artificial Intelligence & Climate Change. The Roundtable seeks to foster ongoing discussions, shared learning, and nimble coordination around emerging issues related to AI and climate change, including: how AI can combat climate change; the environmental impact of AI itself; and strategies for mitigating the impacts of AI energy consumption and climate effects.
