An ad hoc committee will plan and conduct a one-day public workshop that will feature invited presentations and discussion on the impact of health literacy. The workshop may include presentations and discussion of issues related to the effect of health literacy interventions on health and health care costs, quality, behaviors, outcomes, and other areas as appropriate.

Description
An ad hoc committee will plan and conduct a one-day public workshop that will feature invited presentations and discussion on the impact of health literacy. A commissioned paper will be presented during the workshop. The workshop may include presentations and discussion of issues related to the effect of health literacy interventions on health and health care costs, quality, behaviors, outcomes, and other areas as appropriate. The committee will define the specific topics to be addressed, develop the agenda, select and invite speakers and other participants, and moderate the discussions. A proceedings of a workshop will be produced by a designated rapporteur in accordance with institutional guidelines.
