Updating Estimation of the Social Cost of Carbon Dioxide
This new report, from the National Academies, is the second of a two-phase study examining the merits and challenges of potential approaches for a more comprehensive longer-term update to the social cost of carbon estimates to ensure they continue to reflect the best available science.
The first report, Assessment of Approaches to Updating the Social Cost of Carbon: Phase 1 Report on a Near-Term Update, was released in January 2016 and can be found at this link.
These briefings were for members of Congress and congressional staff only. The report was publicly released on January 11, 2017 and can be found, in its entirety, on the Web site of the National Academies Press.
