An ad hoc committee will plan and conduct a one-day public workshop that will feature invited presentations and discussion on health literacy and mental and behavioral health. The workshop may include presentations and discussion of issues related to the particular health literacy challenges in mental and behavioral health, possible approaches to overcome those challenges, effective health literacy interventions in patient/family care, and communication among providers.

Description
An ad hoc committee will plan and conduct a one-day public workshop that will feature invited presentations and discussion on health literacy and mental and behavioral health. The workshop may include presentations and discussion of issues related to the particular health literacy challenges in mental and behavioral health, possible approaches to overcome those challenges, effective health literacy interventions in patient/family care, and communication among providers. The committee will define the specific topics to be addressed, develop the agenda, select and invite speakers and other participants, and moderate the discussions. A proceedings of the presentations and discussions at the workshop will be developed by a designated rapporteur in accordance with institutional guidelines.
