A committee of the National Academies of Sciences, Engineering, and Medicine will consider strategies for safeguarding and sustaining the economic activity driven by research and innovation in the life sciences. This activity is collectively known as the "bioeconomy," and encompasses research and product development for medicine, agriculture, energy, and other sectors derived from biological science.
