Science Traceability Matrices for Panels

To ensure the statement of task was fully addressed by this report, all aspects were mapped to a science traceability matrix (STM). The panels then used these STMs to record the information they gathered on scientific objectives and the criteria necessary to meet them. Any additional context the panels wished to provide beyond the STM is recorded in Appendixes B–E. These STMs proved to be critical to the committee’s decision-making process around objectives and campaigns. The STMs provide finer details that what is covered in the main report and are being included for readers with more technical questions than what was covered in the text.
