Division on Engineering and Physical Sciences (DEPS)
The Division on Engineering and Physical Sciences (DEPS) provides independent and authoritative advice to the federal government and the nation on important science and technology policy issues. Through workshops, roundtables, and consensus studies, DEPS brings together experts from across academia, industry, and government to discuss pressing interdisciplinary questions. Recommendations from DEPS reports support policy decisions ranging from future research agendas to fuel economy standards. The 13 DEPS units do work on a variety of topics including national security, space and aerospace, infrastructure, energy, computer science, math and statistics, physics, and laboratory assessments.
