Description
An ad hoc committee will plan and convene a one-day public workshop focused on aspects of pre-kindergarten through 12th grade education metrics that are relevant and potentially useful to the health sector, given the recognition of education as a key influence on health outcomes and community well-being. The committee will develop the agenda and identify meeting objectives, select appropriate speakers, and moderate the discussions. The workshop will include the perspectives of experts from the health, education, and other pertinent sectors. Topics that may be explored include: examples of education metrics that are being (or could be) used in the health sector--in different settings and at different geographic levels--to measure performance and advance goals shared by the health and education sectors, and the possibilities for, and any available examples of joint accountability payment models linked with achieving one or more educational outcomes. A proceedings of a workshop-in brief and a complete proceedings based on presentations and discussion at the workshop will be prepared by a designated rapporteur in accordance with institutional guidelines.
