Final Thoughts

The images and photographs in this book are only a small sample of the many outstanding views taken with the HST. They provide stepping-stones of travel, from Earth orbit to galaxies billions of light years away.

The Hubble Space Telescope has brought a sharper view of the night sky. Other orbiting telescopes and new innovative ground-based technologies will continue to expand the limits of our understanding. Only a hundred years ago, we began to explore the size and structure of our own Galaxy. Who knows what wonders await us as we continue our voyage of discovery into the universe?
